Arthur Clifford Miller Jr. was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 26, 1930, to Arthur Clifford Miller Sr. and Alma Sutton Miller. As his parents divorced when he was young, he and his mother lived with his grandparents in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Alma was a professional dancer and Arthur often accompanied her on his conga drum. He graduated from Food Trades Vocational High School, with a concentration on baking skills.

As a young adult, Arthur spent much time with his lifelong friend, Snooky. They shared a love of music, and visited jazz clubs in Harlem, occasionally sitting in, Arthur on drums, and Snooky, the trumpet.

In 1951, Arthur married his first wife, Edith Thompson. They had four children ~ Alan, Debra Ann, and twins, Don and Donna. They lived in an apartment in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Unfortunately, their marriage ended ten years later. Arthur then moved to Westchester, where his children loved to visit with him. He held various jobs there.

In 1976, Arthur was hired as a copy office assistant by American Can Company in Greenwich, Connecticut. He worked his way up to a management position as Supervisor of the Copy Center in the Greenburgh facility. He loved this job.

Arthur met and married his second wife, Betty Russell, in 1969, Their son, Brian, was born in 1977. They soon moved to their new home in Greenburgh and started attending Chatterton Hill Church. Arthur retired from American Can that same year and began part-time work operating the copy room at an architectural firm.

Sadly, Betty passed away on January 6, 1993. Arthur became even more involved in church activities and spending time with neighbors and friends.

In 1996, Arthur married his minister, Bonnie, and became stepfather to her daughter, Debbie. They enjoyed church activities, traveling, and entertaining. Arthur also joined The Old Guard of White Plains, and he and Bonnie were part of its bowling league.

In 2021, Arthur and Bonnie moved to Riverhead, Long Island. Due to risks of COVID, life was very different, with few visitors. During these latter years, Arthur enjoyed playing dominoes on his iPad, doing word search puzzles, reading the daily paper and People magazine, and watching “the boob tube”, especially Family Feud and the Yankees. On October 1, he moved to an Assisted Living Facility as Bonnie could no longer care for him due to her own medical issues, He was very happy there until his hospitalization on October 31.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children Alan (Cathy), Debra Ann, Donna, Don, and Brian; stepdaughter, Debbie (Bruce); grandchildren and step-grandchildren, André, Tchaka, Darnell, Derrick, Darneshia, Adam, Crystal, Rachel, Zoe, and Alex; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and cousins, as well as his little dog, Gracie, and many friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
