BEATRICE Life’s Journey

Beatrice Jones–Alex was born in Chattanooga, Tenn. May 24, 1927 to the late Reverend Samuel M. Jones and Minnie Ziegler. She was married to the late Alfonso Alex. From this union they had one daughter the Reverend Patricia Dale Gillman. Beatrice early childhood days were in Knoxville, Tenn., and Jacksonville, Fla. After completing here education in Florida, she moved to White Plains, NY to join her other siblings.

She was self- taught on the piano by going to her father’s church on many occasions as a child, playing the keyboard until she finally learned how to play. Her favorite song was, “Precious Memories.” Later in life Mrs. Jones- Alex had a second child a son, the late Stephen W. Jones.
