Mrs. Carol Lynn Johnson (née Jenkins), 78, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on November 26, 2025, in White Plains, New York, the city where she was born and spent much of her life.
Born on December 29, 1946, in White Plains to Harry and Lillian Jenkins, Carol was one of ten siblings in a close-knit family. She graduated from White Plains High School and embarked on a career that would span decades and leave a lasting impression on all who worked with her.
Carol began her professional journey in administrative roles on Wall Street in Manhattan before transitioning to various corporate support positions throughout the Westchester area. Her dedication and talent eventually led her to International Business Machines (IBM), where she found her true professional home. At IBM, Carol rose through the ranks from secretarial roles to become a Financial Analyst in the Market Research Department—a testament to her intelligence, perseverance, and work ethic. Even after retiring in 2001, her expertise was so valued that she was called back to work part-time, continuing to contribute meaningfully thanks to her deep knowledge of processes and legacy systems.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Carol lived a vibrant life filled with activity and joy. She enjoyed bowling and played on a local softball team for a short time. She also took pleasure in golf from time to time, enjoying time with her husband who also loved the sport.
Carol’s greatest legacy lies not only in her career or hobbies but in the love and care she gave so freely to others. She was an extraordinary person who consistently put others before herself—always making sure everyone else was taken care of above all else. Her loving heart left an indelible mark on those around her. Known for being smart, hardworking, and fun to be around, Carol brought warmth and light into every room she entered.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Harold Johnson Sr., and their beloved son, Harold Johnson Jr. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters Agnes Mebane, Mary Jenkins, and Dorothy Jenkins; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry forward her memory with love.
Carol was predeceased by her parents Harry and Lillian Jenkins; brothers Harry Jenkins Jr., John Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, and Walter Jenkins; and sisters Barbara Jean Evans and Gloria Harris.
A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend—Carol touched countless lives in both profound and quiet ways. Her legacy will live on through all those she impacted during her lifetime and through generations yet to come.
Loved immensely, never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.
