Dorothy McKoy was born on August 24, 1932 in Cave Valley, Jamaica and was raised with love, strength, and unwavering support. From a young age, she displayed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a natural ability to bring joy to those around her.
Whether it was her infectious laughter, her caring nature, or her ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, she was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was deeply committed to care taking and her work, always striving to make a difference and leave a positive mark on the world.
Beyond her nurturing nature and hard work, Dorothy McKoy was a woman of many passions. She found joy in baking cakes for all occasions, knitting, crossword puzzles, and traveling. Whether she was spending time with family or cooking meals for loved ones, she embraced every experience with enthusiasm and love.
More than anything, Dorothy McKoy was devoted to her family and friends. She cherished her relationships and was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support to those who needed her. Her love for her family members knew no bounds, and she took great pride in being a loyal mother, sister, wife, and friend. She is survived by her Sibling: Jean Thyme, her children: Loris Howcott, Shirley Moore, Hyacinth El-Mahdi, Noris McKoy, Owen McKoy, Yvette Burgos, in addition to 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman McKoy, her brothers, Joslyn and Cecil Walters, and her sons Keith McKoy and Gary Clarke, whom we take comfort in knowing welcomed her with open arms. Though the pain of her loss is overwhelming, we find solace in the memories she left behind.
Her spirit will live on in every shared story, every echo of laughter, and every act of love inspired by her example. We will forever carry her in our hearts.
