Gloria Mosley, 79 years old, was called home on Monday, June 23, 2014 in her home in Hampton, VA.
She was born on November 4, 1934 in Boston, MA. She later graduated from Walton High School in Bronx, NY. Gloria was the widower of the late Henry George Mosley.
After retiring from Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, NY, she moved to Hampton, VA to establish her new home. She became a very active participant in church and the community. Gloria was a dedicated member of Queen Street Baptist Church joining in 1997. She worked faithfully with the John Riddick Circle Ministry and sang in the Wise-Hope Sanctuary Choir. Her community services included volunteer work with the Hampton Sheriffs Office and Booker T. Elementary School.
Sister Mosley was a Team Leader in QSBC Relay for Life for more than five years, always meeting her goals of monies raised for this great cause.
Sister Mosley leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Lester Mosley and Melvin Mosley; daughter, Jacqueline Jones and a very special niece Brenda Thomas. She is also survived by sisters, Phyllis Isaacs and Muriel Cager and a brother William Cager.
Gloria was truly blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great-grands. She will be missed by a host of close family and friends.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home. A home going celebration will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Queen Street Worship Center, 98 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia. Graveside services & interment will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 in White Plains, New York in the White Plains Rural Cemetery through Lee's Funeral Home,LLC in White Plains, NY.
