Our father, husband and friend departed earth for his rest with the Lord and Savior on October 7, 2017.

Henry J. Bruen Sr., son of the late Loretta and Henry Bruen, was born on January 16, 1927 in White Plains, New York. He was a graduate of White Plains High School who attended Delehanty Institute School of Drafting. He received his degree in drafting in 1948. He accepted a position at Pitney Bowes in Stamford, Connecticut, where he worked as an electro-mechanical designer for 27 years.

On September 4, 1949 Henry J. Bruen Sr. and Francine Gadson were married. They had four wonderful children; Vernell Bruen-Coleman, Karen Burton, Henry J. Bruen Jr., and Maureen Bruen. Francine passed away on April 6, 2009.

Henry was a great family man and loving father who was social and active. He passionately enjoyed playing golf and chess. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Henry is survived by his children; Vernell Bruen-Coleman (Anthony), Karen Burton (Randolph), Henry J. Bruen Jr., Maureen Bruen; his grandchildren; Jeffery Burton, Justin Coleman (Rachel), Dylan Coleman (Stephanie) and Laura Ross (Benjamin) and great-grandchildren Zachary Ross and Arthur Coleman.
