Ilene Smith Pressley

Listen to Obituary
Ilene Smith-Pressley received her heavenly wings on the morning of May 25, 2024, with loving family members by her side.

Ilene was born in the year 1954 on the 13th day of February to Ilene R. and Eugene Smith. Affectionally known as “little Ilene” and “Mommy” she showed an extreme zest for life with her interests in the arts including baton twirling and dancing when she attended Walton High School in the Bronx.

She attended John Jay College and found herself in the field of banking for nearly a decade. On this journey she met her husband, Stanley Pressley. Together they found an undying love for ice/roller skating, and paddleball. Then came the joy of her life with the birth of their beloved son William Stanley Pressley.

Life took a mammoth step to accommodate her big heart when she entered the world of social care. As she did in her early life when she helped her siblings in their educational pursuits, she did the same in the field of social services. She was an advocate for many, while genuinely loving and caring for her patients and those less fortunate.

Ilene loved embracing new experiences and enhanced her life with a vast variety of entrepreneurial endeavors and creative ideas. Her boundless energy surfaced repeatedly in her volunteer services.

Ilene was welcomed in heaven by her parents, Eugene & Ilene, loving grandparents, and a bevy of beloved ones.

She is survived by loving son William, husband Stan, sisters Eleanor Clarke, Lucinda Smith and brothers Tyrone Smith (Tara), Raynard Smith (Kim). Grandson Jordan, nieces April, Janai, Jacinda, Johniq, grandniece Rayvin, and a host of other beloved relatives.
