Iris Mae Davis-Grant, age 63, passed away on May 21, 2016 in her home in White Plains, NY. She was born in Swansea, SC on July 29, 1952 to late Thomas Livingston and Marian Davis. Widow of Joseph M. Grant Jr. of Mt. Vernon, NY, she graduated from Mercy College in 1975. She had a stellar 31 year career with the Department of Social Services in the Mandated Preventive Services, Child Protective Services, Housing and Homeless Services. She held various titles in the Mt. Vernon, Yonkers and White Plains District Offices culminating into a Supervisory role. She was a pillar of the community known for her love, compassion, energy and endless giving spirit. She was actively involved in the Young Marines program of White Plains and was the Westchester County Coordinator for the Marine Corps Toys 4 Tots, and participated in the Relay for Life.
She is survived by her loving daughter Kira Freeman; Brothers and Sisters: Anthony Davis (Joyce), Rosslyn “Francine“, Elizabeth, Charles, Paula, Duncan, Michelle, Kermit “Jose” McMillan, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved family members.
