Nathaniel “Nat” Hester Jr., beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 78 years of age after a brief illness.

He was a proud native New Yorker. After several years of service, he was honorably discharged from the US Air Force serving as an Air Policeman. Nat was an avid golfer and loved listening to jazz. He spent over 40 years, as a dedicated, successful sales professional and community volunteer, he retired from Southland Corporation and relocated back to Greenburgh. Most recently, he was employed by Neiman Marcus and treasured the relationships he made.

He was predeceased in death by his mother Barbara Hester (nee Clymer), his father Nathaniel Hester Sr., and brother Ronald Hester. He is survived by his two children Natalie Hester Johnson (Victor Johnson) of Seattle, WA, and Nathaniel Hester III (Amber Hester) of Seattle, WA. He leaves five grandchildren: Victoria and Vanessa Johnson of Seattle, WA, and Dylan, Jacob, and Jonah Hester of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by his sister Dianne Ramsey Gayton (Leonard Gayton) of Seattle, WA, and brother Christopher Jeter (Connie Landers-Jeter) of Dunedin, FL and many cousins and friends who loved and will miss him dearly.

ATTENTION: As we continue to phase back into smaller capacity public visitations/services amid the continuing COVID & other various health concerns, we need your help in limiting/controlling the number of people, so please govern yourself accordingly for the health & safety of all. A WALK-THRU Wake/Viewing/Visitation will be held on Friday May 24th, 2024 from 11:00AM-1:00PM, WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK/SHARE MEMORIES starting at 12:00NOON, & with limited seating. There is a MAXIMUM CAPACITY of 80 people at funeral home at any time, & masks are now optional. At the very least you can get hand sanitizer & sign the register book (NOTE: please feel free to bring your own pen), and WALK-THRU to briefly greet the family. If not at capacity, you will be allowed in to have a seat; but if at capacity by the time you get here, you may be required to leave the premises after signing register book, so as not to be in violation nor cause a health hazard, so please govern yourself accordingly. Regardless of if you're able to enter/be seated, or not, please still maintain/respect social distancing & please refrain from/limit touching/hugging/handshaking, preferably just elbow bumping briefly if at all. If instructed, PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY leave the building & premises if at our capacity at any time. PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY follow & abide by the directions of the funeral home staff/personnel at all times. We Thank You in advance for kindly following directions & any laws and/or policies, so as to make all go smoothly the day of the services, to eliminate further burden on the family, and to maintain the health & safety of All.
