The Beginning.........A time to be born..
Pleasant Bullock was born on April 8, 1920 to Nathaniel and Rebecca Bullock in Warren, North Carolina. Pleasant entered into rest on July 3, 2016 at Prince George Hospital in Bowie, MD, where he lived with his son for the last eight years. He is preceded in death by his wife Bessie Jane Bullock, his son Sterling Bullock and his granddaughter Unique S. Bullock. Others that preceded him in death is his siblings, Ethel Lee Bullock-Alston, Ida Mae Bullock-Higgs, James Eugene Bullock, John Russell and Elizabeth Bullock-Edwards.
Life's Journey.........A time to Fish..
Pleasant truly had a good run and a life well lived! He provided a good example of a quiet soul with a big heart. He received his primary education in Warren, North Carolina. At a young age he was a member of Burdhette Chapel United Church of Christ, Mason, North Carolina. He serviced in the Army during World War 2 from May 29, 1942 to September 20, 1945 where he received the Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars. On December 18, 1955 he and Bessie Jane Bullock (Smith) were married. He joined Bethel Baptist Church in January 12, 1964 under the officiating of Pastor Emeritus, Louis H. Wade and he served on the Senior Usher Board. He worked for over 20 years for the Winbrook Housing Authority and retired in 1982. He move to Maryland to live with his son and daughter in law where he enjoyed going to the Bowie, Senior Center. His love was fishing: I AM A FISHERMAN AND WHEN MY LINE HITS THE WATER I FEEL ALIVE IN MY SOUL FREE! FISH ON LONELY FISHERMAN WE LOVE YOU!
Going Home........A time to mourn and a time to Fish..
Pleasant leaves to cherish his memory:
His loving sons, Joseph Bullock (Jeanette) of Tacoma, Washington, Barry Bullock (Sherry) of Bowie, MD, grandsons Marcel of White Plains, NY, Jamal of Seattle, Washington and Brian of Tacoma, Washington granddaughter Candice of Tacoma, Washington, and six great grand children along with a host of other relatives and friends.
