Rosemary Randall

Listen to Obituary
Rosemary Jones Randall, the only daughter of Clarence and Olida Jones, was born on May 21,
1930, in Mount Vernon, New York. She had three older brothers, Clarence Jr., Donald and
William. Rosemary was affectionately called “Alice” by family and friends, after her maternal
grandmother, Alice Foster.

Rosemary attended public elementary schools in Harlem, New York, before going to
Northeastern Academy and Pine Forge Academy, where she was a member of the school’s
inaugural class. Later, she attended Oakwood College, the Hospital for Joint Diseases School
of Practical Nursing, Bronx Community College and Mercy College, where she received her
bachelor’s degree in May 1986.

In 1960, Rosemary married the love of her life, Edmund Randall, and they settled in the
Greenburgh section of White Plains, New York where their daughter, Judy, was born. Rosemary
and Ed were pillars of the Parkway Homes community where they resided.

Rosemary worked at the Chemical Bank before spending most of her career as a Registered
Nurse at the Nathan Miller Nursing Center in White Plains, where she was employed for over 35
years. Rosemary was also a part-time school nurse at Pace University in White Plains.

She was a life-long Adventist and a faithful member of the First Seventh-day Adventist Church
of White Plains for over 60 years. Rosemary and Ed were instrumental in the establishment of
the church’s current home on Juniper Hill Road. In addition, they continually supported and
encouraged young people through their counseling, generosity and kindness. Throughout the
years, Rosemary served the church in a variety of roles, including: Sabbath School
Superintendent and teacher; Church Clerk; Adventist Youth Leader; Community Services
Leader; Personal Ministries Leader and Secretary; Deaconess; and Medical Department
Leader, during which time she vehemently advocated for health-related programming and
secured space for a medical room at the church. In her final years, Rosemary worked diligently
in the church’s food pantry.

In retirement, Rosemary enjoyed traveling with Ed and being with friends and family. Her
greatest joy was being an awesome grandma to Ethan and Sara. Each Thanksgiving she
delighted in hosting her family and friends. Rosemary spent her life in service to others and
tirelessly cared for her mother and husband in their declining years.

Surrounded by family, Rosemary peacefully transitioned from her earthly body on June 2, 2023,
at the King Street Rehab in Rye Brook, New York. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Edmund; parents, Clarence and Olida; and brothers, Clarence Jr., Donald and William.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Judy Bartlett (Mayo); grandchildren, Ethan and
Sara Bartlett; sister-in-law, Helen Jones; nephews, Gregory Jones, Gordon M. Jones (Yvonne),
G. Erik Thompson and Gordon Jones II; and a host of family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations, specifically to where she labored in love, to the Food Pantry at the First Seventh-day Adventist Church of White Plains, 180 Juniper Hill Road, White Plains, New York 10607. For online giving, please go to www.fwpcenter.org/giving/
