CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF
SHEILA ROLISON CORBETT

Sheila Seward Rolison was born on November 1, 1939 to the late Ashley B. Seward and Harry T. Rolison. She departed this worldly life on October 24, 2020. She would be the middle child of her two siblings, Roland and Connie, and would enjoy her young life growing up in White Plains, New York amongst many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sheila received her formal education in the White Plains Public School system where she enjoyed playing sports e.g., baseball and basketball, and her opponents were quick to learn “don’t let my size fool you”. Sheila’s mother died at a young age so she assumed the role as “Mother” to Connie who was graduating high school and preparing for college; and as a counselor to Roland (who predeceased her) who often sought her advice with his life issues. Her brother Todd came along much later in her life but he, too, benefited from her ‘big sister’ counseling. After searching for ‘the’ job, she resigned her position at the Westchester County District Attorney’s office and found her way to IBM, a company she loved and respected, and to which she provided years of dedicated service of great significance and value. In 1994 she retired from her position as an IBM Division Personnel Manager.

In 1970 she gave birth to the first love of her life, Jason Ashley Harris. Jason changed her life profoundly and she became the Mother of all Mothers; Sister of all Sisters; and Friend of all Friends. Sadly, Jason passed in 1986 after having only been on this earth for 16 years and 1 month.

On June 8, 1997 Sheila married the second love of her life, Ward Corbett, Sr., who throughout her prolonged illness, loved her, nursed her, comforted her, reassured her, and cherished her to the very last day of her life. Also left to celebrate her life is sister Constance R. Corbett, brother-in-law Richard L. Corbett, brother Bradley Todd Rolison, 4 sisters-in-law, 2 other brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.

ATTENTION: During this COVID-19 crisis, as we slowly begin to phase back into small capacity public visitations/services, we need your help in limiting and controlling the number of people inside the funeral home AND cemetery. WE HAVE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FOR SERVICES THIS SATURDAY 10/31 - PLEASE READ IN DETAIL BELOW BEFORE EVEN ATTEMPTING TO ATTEND ANYTHING PLEASE! Thank you so kindly!

ALL seating for the visitation/wake on Sat., 10/31 is by invitation of the family explicitly only. What IS being ALLOWED for others, however, is a constant stream of attendees, in groups of two (2), to just BRIEFLY do a 'walk through viewing', give their respects and leave, during the 11:30AM-12:00PM TIME period ONLY. So during that time period, in groups of 2 with your masks on & phones away, you will be allowed to come to the front door, get hand sanitizer, sign the register book (NOTE: please feel free to bring your own pen), walk through to offer any brief condolence to the family keeping social distance (NO touching/hugging/handshaking, ONLY elbow bumping briefly if at all), briefly view, and then immediately leave the building & premises if you've not been extended an invitation to sit & stay (you will literally be in the funeral home for a few minutes or less). Once 12:00PM comes, NO one else will be admitted and ALL not assigned a seat must leave the funeral home & vicinity. The Funeral Service is for INVITED attendees of the family explicitly only. There is still limited space to attend the burial at Ferncliff. If you are not already part of the Invited Funeral Attendees, you may RSVP online herein to attend her BURIAL at Ferncliff Cemetery ONLY. Please click on the RSVP tab/button herein for further details & to RSVP, which is at a first come/first served basis. If having difficulties or no internet access, you may call to the funeral home during normal business hours to try to do so. Once at capacity though, NO more RSVP's will be accepted. Please follow & abide by the directions of the funeral home staff and/or cemetery personnel at all times. We Thank You in advance for following directions & NYS law, so as to make all go smoothly the day of the services, to eliminate further burden on the family, and to maintain the health & safety of All. Any questions, or if any clarity is needed, please call ahead to the funeral home and/or speak to us from a safe distance if present.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You MUST come to the funeral home & cemetery wearing a mask, & wear a mask inside the funeral home & at cemetery at all times. You must put away your phone & use hand sanitizer upon entering the funeral home. If you know you have a coronovirus/COVID-19; are sick/experiencing symptoms of coronovirus/COVID-19; are immuno-compromised and/or have health/other conditions that make your body more susceptible to illness, are under an imposed or advised quarantine, and/or are visiting from a state that requires you to quarantine upon entering NY for a designated amount of time before going out in public and you have not gotten an exemption, please do NOT attend any services nor come into the funeral home nor to the cemetery. Please feel free to bring & use your own pen for signing the family's register book - you are encouraged to please BRING & use your own PEN for signing. Ferncliff Cemetery, BUT MEET AT LEE'S Funeral Home for Processional
160 Fisher Avenue, WHITE PLAINS, NY 10606-2304,
Though the Funeral Service is private for invited attendees of the family explicitly only, there is still limited space ALLOWING to ATTEND the BURIAL at Ferncliff. If you are not already part of the Invited Funeral Attendees, you may RSVP online herein to attend her BURIAL at Ferncliff Cemetery ONLY. Please click on the RSVP tab/button herein for further details & to RSVP, which is at a first come/first served basis. If having difficulties or no internet access, you may call to the funeral home during normal business hours to try to do so. If your RSVP is accepted/confirmed to attend the Burial at Ferncliff ONLY, you may MEET Between 12:45-1:00pm at LEE'S Funeral Home to give your name(s), be positively checked in & receive a funeral flag or decal for identification, and get further instructions on following in the processional to Ferncliff Cemetery, then please remain in your vehicle after that. Once at capacity though, NO more RSVP's will be accepted. And ONLY specific names will be allowed to attend - so you cannot have others without a positive RSVP to be in your vehicle, or you CANNOT ATTEND. The cemetery is EXTREMELY strict with their guidelines, and WILL REFUSE to allow the burial to take place if we have more people than they allow. So if you show up uninvited, you're only doing a disservice to the family, because we will be refused service. So please know if we are at capacity for attending the burial, do NOT show up unless specifically invited or confirmed (if in doubt you can check with the funeral home to confirm as well). Otherwise, any day AFTER Sat. 10/31/20, you're then allowed to go visit the gravesite normally as the cemetery allows. Thank you for being respectful of restrictions & the family, and honoring all arranged for Sheila R. Corbett.
