Vinetta Walker

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, auntie, and friend, Vinetta Walker, who departed this life at the age of 88.

Born in Dalvey, St. Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies, to Retina Lindsay and Philando Walker (both of whom preceded her in death) Vinetta lived a life marked by strength, grace, and quiet determination. She was a woman of deep integrity: poised, honest, content, and always straightforward in her communication. Those who knew her admired her unwavering character and her ability to persevere through any challenges that came her way.

Vinetta worked tirelessly throughout her life. She was a talented dressmaker with a gifted hand for detail and design, crafting beauty and utility in every stitch. Later in life, she dedicated many years as a courier at Westchester County Medical Center, where she was known for her reliability, professionalism, and kind spirit.

She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly: her sons Howard Lee (United States) and Stafford Francis (United Kingdom); granddaughters Sabrina and Simone; daughter-in-law Beverly Francis; great grand-child Emilio Francis Hudson; sisters Lucilda, Beverly, and Sylvia; brother Llewellyn (Una); and a devoted extended family including nieces and nephews Joan (Charles), Janice (Carl), Anthony, Jillian, Maxine, Sharon, Joan B, Shernette, Nosley as well as her cousin Rose and dear friends Pearline, Lottie and Aubyn.

Her legacy continues through her cherished grand-nieces and grand-nephews: Keya, Shaun, Triston, Bryana, Jordana, Tiana, Kelly, Tiffany, Tracy, Tatjana and Titania, as well as a host of family, friends, and neighbors who were touched by her wisdom.

Vinetta will be remembered not only for her hard work and elegance but also for her quiet strength, her deep loyalty, and the love she shared so generously with those around her. She will remain in our hearts always.

A WALK-THRU Wake/Viewing/Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 27th, 2025 from 11:00AM-12:00PM, followed by Funeral Service at 12:00 NOON, with limited seating due to continuing health considerations. There is a MAXIMUM CAPACITY of 80 people at funeral home at any time, And MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. But the family will be live-streaming the services on ZOOM, also available on our website the day of the service where it says WATCH WEBCAST, so you're able to view remotely on ZOOM/there/here also/instead. So you must come to the funeral home WITH YOUR OWN MASK ON ALREADY to attend the Wake, & Keep your Masks On inside at ALL times. At the very least you can get hand sanitizer & sign the register book (NOTE: please feel free to bring your own pen), and WALK-THRU to briefly greet the family. If not at capacity, you will be allowed in to have a seat; but if at capacity by the time you get here, you may be required to leave the premises after signing register book, so as not to be in violation nor cause a health hazard, so please govern yourself accordingly. Regardless of if you're able to enter/be seated, or not, social distancing MUST be maintained (please refrain from touching/hugging/handshaking, preferably just elbow bumping briefly if at all). If instructed, PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY leave the building & premises if at our capacity at any time. PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY follow & abide by the directions of the funeral home & cemetery staff/personnel at all times. If you know you have a coronavirus/COVID-19/other respiratory disease; are sick/experiencing symptoms of measles or coronavirus/COVID-19/other respiratory disease; are immuno-compromised and/or have health/other conditions that make your body more susceptible to illness, please do NOT attend any services nor come into our funeral home. Please feel free to bring & use your own pen for signing the family's register book - you are encouraged to please BRING & use your own PEN for signing. You may send flowers, and/or as a lasting tribute you may choose to plant a tree in her name/memory/honor, and/or a contribution may be made in her name/memory/honor to a charity of your choice. If sending flowers, they may be delivered on either Monday May 26th, 2025 by/before 6:00PM to Lee's Funeral Home; or Tuesday May 27th by/before 10:45AM to Lee's Funeral Home. The Family Thanks You!
