William “Russie” Bryant was born on June 25th, 1949 in Eutawville, South Carolina. He transitioned on August 24th, 2025 in Yonkers, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents: Dorthy and Lee Bryant; brothers: Kenneth (Alfreda) Bryant and Robert Lee Bryant; & sister, Wanda Delores Haygood all of Eutawville, SC. He is also preceded in death by his parents-in-law: Rubell and Samuel Myers; brother-in-law James Herman Myers, and sister-in-law Juanita (Jonny) Jones of White Plains, NY.

He leaves to celebrate his life, wife, Beverly Myers-Bryant; two daughters: Sylesia (Andrew) Stokes of New Jersey and Megan Bryant of White Plains, NY; three sons: Kendrick Bryant (Sheena) of Kentucky, Gerard Bryant and James (Diana) Bryant, both of White Plains, NY; seven grandchildren: Da’Tavia, Tamara, Journi, Kingston, Rodrell, Camery, and Caleb; great-grandchild, De’Lea; five sisters: Rosa Lee McCullough of Bronx, NY; Doris (Robert) Honore’ of Columbia, SC; Margaret (Thomas) Berry of Bronx, NY; Vivian (Isaac) Gadson of Summerville, SC; and Patricia Williams of Bridgeport, CT; five brothers: Wilbur (Alison) Bryant, Joseph (Linda) Bryant, both of Columbia, SC; Herman (Carol) Bryant of Omaha, NE; Kevin Michael Anthony (Keshia) Bryant of Eutawville, SC; and Larry Grant of Connecticut; two sisters-in-law, Dr. Pauline P. Bryant (Robert Lee Bryant) of Eutawville, SC, & Celestine Myers (Eva) of Boston, MA; three aunts: Alqueen Wearing of Eutawville, SC , Rosa Lee Clark of Bronx, NY, and Leola Washington of White Plains, NY; and a host of loving relatives, and friends.

William, affectionately known as Russie or Rusty, grew up in Eutawville, SC. He attended St. James Elementary School in Eutawville, SC and Roberts High School in Holly Hill, SC where he was a star athlete. William pursued his gifts of building in a full career of construction and estate remodeling and renovating. He enjoyed walking, sports (Go Eagles), talking fast, and cutting a rug on the dance floor. In 1986, he was joined in holy matrimony to Mrs. Beverly Young Myers in White Plains, NY where they raised their family. William was a dedicated sports dad who supported and coached his children in their sports and academic endeavors. He was a party-starter, protector, outstanding caregiver, kind yet honest, and loyal father, husband, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, cousin, and friend. He leaves a legacy of laughter, community-focused care, and acts of service.

A Wake/Visitation/Viewing will be held on Friday September 12th, 2025, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Bethel Baptist Church, followed by Funeral Service at 11:00AM. So you may come to the Church to attend, & feel free to wear masks. At the very least you can get hand sanitizer & sign the register book (NOTE: please feel free to bring your own pen). If not at capacity, you will be allowed in to have a seat; but if at capacity by the time you get there, you may be required to leave the premises after signing register book, so as not to be in violation nor cause a health hazard, so please govern yourself accordingly. Regardless of if you're able to enter/be seated, or not, please refrain from too much touching/hugging/handshaking, preferably elbow bumping briefly if at all. If instructed, PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY leave the building & premises if the church is at their capacity. PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY follow & abide by the directions of the funeral home staff and/or church personnel at all times. We Thank You in advance for following directions & policies, so as to make all go smoothly the day of the services, to eliminate further burden on the family, and to maintain the health & safety of All.
